Chairman's Message

Visy Industries' past, present and future are linked by a commitment to growth, through meeting our customers' needs and the wise use and re-use of scarce resources.

My parents, Leon and Paula Pratt , my uncle Max Plotka and the Feldman family, founded Pratt Industries' core company, Visy Board in 1948 in a tiny shop front in Melbourne, Australia.

They started making cardboard boxes with a home made corrugator, a boiler, one customer and a handful of employees who did not know the meaning of the word impossible.

We have grown to become the world's largest privately owned packaging, paper and recycling company. We will continue to grow by investing in state-of-the-art recycling, paper making and packaging technology.

But our most productive investment remains our people. It is through the dedication, skills and initiative of our people that Visy Industries has prospered and will continue to move ahead.

As we progress towards the next century with plans for even more growth, nationally and internationally, our people are rising to the challenge.

Our future has never looked brighter.
