1945
 |
A 1000 pound investment from Ida Visbord, establishes the Visy corrugated cardboard business. |
1948
 |
The first corrugator is built from scrap metal, producing around 5000 boxes per day. |
1950
 |
The business relocates to Thornbury — two new corrugators and printers are purchased. Major customers CUB, Tom Piper Foods and Heinz.

1960
 |
Visy Board Reservoir opens with two new corrugators and more than 100 employees. |
1969
 |
Richard Pratt takes over company, current turnover of $5 million. |
1970
 |
Visy expands interstate. Warwick Farm corrugating plant commissioned. |
1978
 |
Carole Park QLD plant opens, and Packaging Systems Division established to assist in the installation of equipment into customer plants. |
1980
 |
The first paper recycling mills established in Reservoir (VIC) and Warwick Farm (NSW) |
1989
 |
Visy moves to the US building a paper recycling mill in Hartford City, Indiana. Visy continues to grow opening its 130 acre site at Collaroo (VIC) |
1994
 |
More growth in the US with the acquisitions of the Georgia Box plants. |
1995
 |
Coolaroo continues to expand with the establishment of Paper Coatings facility. |
2001
 |
Visy acquires Southcorp Packaging (VisyPak). Visy now has 8,000 employees and sales exceeding $3 billion. |
2002
 |
Visy acquires Coca Cola Amatil's manufacturing plants and becomes Australia's largest manufacturer of PET bottles and jars |
